Tape Art!

Have you tried tape art before?  5th graders learned how tape art is growing in popularity.  It allows an artist to avoid certain areas on their artwork easily. 

We used Scotch Blue Painter's Tape to create a snowflake.

After the design was complete (the tape pulls up easily for those who make a mistake or change their mind) they smudged a few drops of glue over the tape with their finger.  This helps seal the edges of the tape.  After that dried, using blue and purple watercolor the snowflakes were painted and sprinkled with salt for a crystal effect.

The next art session students peeled the tape away to reveal their beautiful snowflake design!
