An awesome first grader worked on this design for a few minutes each art class since the beginning of the year. Now that's determination!

Underwater Seascapes

2nd graders learn about landscapes, seascapes, and cityscapes at the beginning of the year.  Here is a glimpse into our seascapes!

The floor of the ocean was drawn first with oil pastels.  Blue watercolor was painted next, and we even sprinkled a little salt to create a watery effect.  We learned that oil and water do not mix and what happens when salt and water meet.
Next students added ocean animals and details with crayons to the background.

Students draw and cut out some animals to become 3-D with the help of cardboard backing.
